About Green Anacondas:

The Green Anaconda is the world's heaviest snake and one of the longest, reaching lengths of up to 30 feet and weighing over 550 pounds! These massive constrictors are found in the swamps, marshes, and slow-moving streams of the Amazon and Orinoco river basins in South America. Green anacondas are olive-green with black oval spots along their backs, providing perfect camouflage in murky water. They're excellent swimmers and spend most of their time in water, where their bulk is supported. Anacondas are ambush predators that wait motionless in water for prey to come close, then strike with lightning speed! They're constrictors, meaning they wrap around their prey and squeeze until it suffocates—they can take down capybaras, deer, caimans, and even jaguars! Anacondas have flexible jaws that can open wide to swallow prey whole. After a large meal, they may not eat again for weeks or months.
