About Haflinger Horses:
Haflinger horses are mountain gems with a heart of gold! Originating in the village of Hafling in the South Tyrol region of Austria in the late 19th century, every registered Haflinger today traces its lineage to a single Arabian stallion named El Bedavi. Their distinctive golden chestnut coat with a flaxen (cream or white) mane and tail is a breed requirement — no other color combination is permitted for registration. Haflingers were originally bred as sure-footed pack and draft horses for the steep Alpine terrain, capable of carrying heavy loads over narrow mountain paths. Today they excel in driving, trail riding, therapeutic riding, and even dressage. Despite their draft horse build, Haflingers are known for their energetic, willing temperament and strong bond with people. They are hardy, long-lived horses that often remain active well into their 30s!
