About Pteranodon:
Pteranodon was one of the largest flying animals of all time, with a wingspan reaching up to 23 feet—larger than many small airplanes! This flying reptile (not a dinosaur!) lived during the Late Cretaceous Period, about 86-84 million years ago, soaring over the Western Interior Seaway that covered much of North America. The distinctive backward-pointing crest on its head may have been used as a rudder during flight or for display. Pteranodon was a fish-eater, diving into the ocean to catch prey with its toothless beak, much like modern pelicans.
Manufactured in China. CollectA's Prehistoric Life Collection includes flying reptiles, marine reptiles, and dinosaurs from all periods!
